Yup, that’s the correct way to spell Melbourne folks. Don’t believe me? Check out the Only Melbourne website. The first week of March saw not 1 but 2 Melburnians who came a-visiting. I believe the last time I saw Andrew was over 20 years ago when we were students of the Penang Free School. I’d say that he’s now more Australian than Malaysian but true to his roots, he’s still very much the “Penang kia” that we all are! Still the nice and easy going fella that I knew him and now a runner training for his 15K race! I was glad that his hotel is just near the park and other than the security check as I drove towards the hotel lobby, picking him up was along my drive to the park.
My unfit state saw me struggling through Double Hill but Andrew was nice enough to accompany me. Just as we reached the car park, the skies opened up and as we found shelter, the photo below was taken. Rather disappointing and I should’ve requested another shot as insurance. In any case, there still would be another chance of running with Andrew again as he will be back here again soon.

The blurriest photo ever taken! I ain't the culprit!
The other “famous” former KLite, now resident runner from Glen Waverly, is back in KL for a couple of weeks and the Platinum Runners had a Reunion Run of sorts. I call it that way because I knew that running to Hartamas would be a few Ks too much for this body of mine. Luc, Nikolay and GL had disappeared into the darkness as expected while Lawrence, Frank and I brought up the rear. Obviously I was the one suffering the most. Being the realist, I made the return back to the park after 7K so that I’ll cover just 15K (run-walk) which was itself already an accomplishment. Surprisingly I had Frank for company and we took it real easy – so easy that I hoped I didn’t mess up his pacing plans. Had this shot taken afterwards and see the difference. Photo was kindly taken by Chin Ann using my 5D. A lot more creases on my face now but wouldn’t you say that the lady from Melbourne is looking good? She’s missed.

Singaporean-Australian, Belgian, Danish, Malaysians, Runners All. The world will be a lot more peaceful if there are more runners.
I covered just a tad short of 30K this week but I’m really quite happy, this my first week back. Will go with this mileage until I’m comfortably covering 10K again.

Suprised that I follow you back? Got buy number on that day? Hehe…
Yeah man. Thanks for the company!
